Available Workshops

There are a variety of ways in which you can become involved in writing workshops, either ongoing groups or one-time or annual events. Some are free, some have tuition costs. Rather than reinvent the wheel, I'm going to send you to lists maintained by other people.

Try this listing from SFWA, the Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America:

Writing Workshops

Note that there are several highly regarded residential workshops for SF and fantasy writing (Clarion, Clarion West, Odyssey, etc.). They are not appropriate for younger students; however, they are certainly something to aspire to. They are extremely challenging, and include instruction by professional authors.

There are also numerous general writing workshops around the country. The Poets & Writers web site is a good place to start looking if you're interested.
